Addiction is dependence on anything from drugs, alcohol, food, activities, or behaviors despite the possibility of detrimental consequences. Addiction generally begins as a way to feel better or feel good. When one uses a substance or participates in an activity it doesn't start because the person wants to be addicted but if they are not careful it can lead to an addiction. Addiction has a likelihood of being accompanied by depression and anxiety.
Warning signs of Addiction:
♦️ An obsession over drugs, food, an activity, or a behavior.
♦️ Continued use of or participation in the addiction even if it harms oneself or others.
♦️ Experiencing withdrawal symptoms when you try to stop.
♦️ Neglecting responsibilities.
♦️ Preoccupied with thinking about the substance, activity, or behavior.
