Did you know that the pandemic has increased abuse? divorce? depression? anxiety? etc?
Did you know that day after day people are being turned away for services if they have certain insurances because those that can provide services under those insurances, are booked out for months! Did you know that Licensed Mental Health Therapists are burning out due to the demand? Did you know that there are different levels of therapists? We have students/interns and provisionally licensed clinicans (those working towards being fully licensed). Did you know that to become fully licensed you have to see clients for 4-5 years? Did you know that some insurances allow for "supervisory contracts" thus allowing students/interns and provisionally licensed therapists to see clients under their supervisors contracts with the insurance companies? Did you know that not all of the insurance companies allow this and THIS is creating a shortage in the services that can be provided!
I have written a petition asking that ALL insurance companies allow for supervisory contracts so that we may meet the mental health needs of our communities!
PLEASE sign this petition so that we can get more therapists to help those in the community - it may help your family member, your friends, your co-workers, etc. If not for you, do it for others!
